Vegetarian Dinner - Autumn Delights

We held our Vegetarian ‘Meet the Farmers’ Dinner on Friday, September 29th to a full house

We celebrated the season's freshly picked produce from fields around Worcestershire, Warwickshire, and Herefordshire. We also paid tribute to the long-standing relationship with our marvellous fruit and veg suppliers Worcester Produce whose daily deliveries of the best of the season’s produce arrives in our kitchen each morning.

Dan Byrd, managing director of Worcester Produce, is also a farmer (we visited his farm in August) and he spoke with passion about the trials and tribulations of weather – you have to be both passionate and a little crazy to be a farmer! Dan and his family are focused on quality and they seek to constantly improve methods to ensure the soil remains at its healthiest, encouraging worms, pollinators, and healthy enzymes. They are true stewards of the land.

The flavours from their fields and regional growers are extraordinary. Our 4 course menu featured wild mushrooms from a family grower in Leicestershire; corn, celeriac, squash, tenderstem, and chard from Dan’s farm; beetroot, and apples from surrounding county farms.
